| DescriptionAlthough an "old" game, it has suprising graphics and reviews. Heavy Gear 2 (HG2) is a 1st person shooter that places you in the cockpit of a large biped robot called a "gear" that armed with various weapons and devices to complete missions. You can control teammates in a variety of landscapes (even space) using complex commands, you can switch to passive radar to bypass a blockade of tanks and gears, and heaps more. The latest computers these days can handle the graphics easily but close up explosions go a bit chuggy. - Spoiler:
AJ's ReviewFrom reviews I've read on the net, HG2 is very good. From my point of view, it is side-by-side with Mechwarrior, as both games are very similar. The gears in this game are very human like, with hand-held weapons and underwater capabilities. Communication between squadmates is excellent, with a small console that pops up by pressing [c] and you press a series of numbers to order gears around. Multiplayer is good, but there are no "bots" or AI players. The missions are easy to understand and are challenging. Space is interesting, as bullet weapons and rockets work perfectly.
