Gamers Vortex Arcade is HACKED

Attention to all members
Gamers Vortex Arcade is hacked by the turkish hacker I.s.p.4.n.H.y.O.L (I added the dots, because he shouldn't find out that his name is on a website as a hacker.)

It seems that the website got hacked on 19th.

I'm still working on the website to get it back.

I've changed all of the users' passwords to 111111. Please change it as soon as you got logged in.

I'm not really affected by this hack, because I don't use the arcade.

But I am sorry for anyone that does lose any information or scores.

Right now I've changed everything back to normal.
And I've reported this to the Arcade webmaster's forum.

Everything looks OK right now, but there still is a bug on Arcade which allows hackers to hack.

Really? There's something that can allow hackers to hack?

What happened? Carelessness. When I updated the Arcade, an old file was left in the FTP directory of Arcade which allowed the hackers to access the admin and make modifications. But I'm going to change that file with a IP catcher one, just to catch Hackers' IPs!

Exposing everyone's new temp password is a little silly! You should, instead of displaying it publically, send a PM with the password(s).

I think I've been there once or twice. I'll have a look now.

They don't have any serious information on their accounts. They just need to open an account in order to play games. The only thing that a member can do in his account is to play games, and chango the password. If anybody couldn't log on his account, just needs to contact me or send me a PM.

And some of the arcade's members aren't from the forum so I can't PM them.

I dont use the arcade much too, so its not much of a big deal to me. I'll worry more if the forum was hacked.

Really dissapointing.

I also take responsibility for this incident. I was out when this happened and as a result couldn't administrate itas closely as I would have.

Glad to see everything's back together now. I'll check it out later.

Yeah, I can't get into the arcade whatsoever to administrate it. I guess we're going to have to wait this one out until the hackers give us back service. I agree with Aryan that this was on part of our carelessness. GV Arcade was relatively easy to hack and obtain info to.

What I want to know is why and how.

Usually these kind of hackers belong to a hacking community (ex: DarkMiNdz, CW, XXI). Anyways, the chances that these hackers were browsing around and just out-of-the-blue chose GV arcade, a website with absoulutely no importance to them is very slim. Not saying that this doesn't happen, but in all my days of seeing hackers, this doesn't happen everyday. A website like GV Arcade is so out-of-the-way on the list of these guys.

What I'm saying is I'm verging on the possibility that this might have been an inside job. That these hackers were tipped off by someone who was angry with our website and wanted to have some fun with malicious harm. The hacker might even be someone who visited our site, not even been a member as often the case. I won't go in-depth with the explanation, but we have to be carefull or hackers will be tunneling through GV just like original gamesroom.

It is strange that someone would want to hack such a small website.

Hey not saying it was a member, often times it is a visitor who may have felt angry with our websites content. It could have been a member from our affiliates, who knows...

It was a turkish hacker, probably a Noob hacker because he didn't know how to delete games while he could delete all of the games!

I've searched his post on underground hacking forums. He just asks silly hacking questions.

But now that everything is allright, I think this topic must be closed.
