| This is the official Gamers Vortex logo discussion. We will discuss here everything about the logo. The logo will be our favicon icon as well. I believe we should discuss the logo before anyone creates it, so everyone is welcome to participate and pitch your ideas.
We will be discussing 5 components of the logo.
>> Color >> Text >> Style >> Font >> Background
Let me explain each to you all
Color - What color scheme should our logo have.. Text - What is written in our logo... Style - What is our theme Font - How are the words written in our logo... Background - What color scheme should our background have...
That being said, please keep this as seriously as possible. Any off-topic discussions in this topic and you will be slapped with a warn. This is not the place to talk about your favorite video game.
One more thing - Critique Carefully. Do not threaten/flame someone, because you disagree with their ideas.
I think I have covered the guidelines for this. Any questions, pm me or another staff member and we will get to you right away. You may begin discussing.

| I think first of all, we need to make simple text concepts and upload them so others could talk about and even get ideas from them.
To do this, you can easily use paint and draw the text (Not to type them). Then, we will discuss about the font type of the logo. SB can create a font specially for GV logos.
We can also visit the professional GFX forums and use some expert help and guide.
I'll post my first drawing as soon as it's done.

| I was also thinking of drawing the text, not type. I'll upload my creation too. | |

| The text you just posted looks a bit awkward. Some comments: 1. It doesnt feel right for some reason, I find looking at it awkward. 2. Pixelated. o.o 3. The V has a 3D look, while it is opposite for the G. Maybe show where you want it to be transparent and where not? | |

| The text you posted looks awfully awkward because: 1: you have to keep the letters as symmetrical as possible meaning keep the length equal on both sides of the line of symmetry. your V looks bad because of this very thing.
2: Its too monotone. Even though just a concept, if you had made the V green and kept the G red it would have looked better. You are mixing both letters and not letting it differentiate in the place where they are meeting.
3: In comparison, The G is too big and the V is too small. Try to keep a standard similar to the ratio generally used.

| Maybe if the V was exactly after G it looked better. I'm trying to make something unique, with a new design. How about a G like this : G shouldn't always be circle you know... I made it in 2 minutes. | |

| Maybe if the V was in between the G it would have looked good. The lower part of your G makes a V you know. | |

| Yeah, that's a good idea too. There can be a V inside the G as well. | |

| Anyone like this. I drew it on paper and then did it in paint. I did not copy this from anywhere. Please tell me if I should change any colors? | |

| Red and blue is too commonly used. And the letters are hard to read. Maybe I'll try one later. | |

Okay, how about this: Gray and Blue are the GV colors. Also edited the letters to make clearer.

| This will be nice if we do this with a better software. I'll see what I can do with this. | |

| I will work on it with flash instead of photoshop; seems easier to do it there. I'll edit this post when I am done. Here's something. I don't have any idea of what you want, but this is be a rough idea of what I can do with flash. My own drawing(very cartoony): A nice converted version of Anime's drawing: I personally like Anime2Life's better, seeing as I did mine in 10 seconds, but I could try more if you want. Or convert more of Anime2Life's stuff. | |

| Wow I like to see how you converted mine. Now it looks nice. Here is what both will look like in favicon format: Which one do you guys favor? | |

| I'll modify the converted version of yours a bit, or make a new one. And btw, your favicons are too small to be nice. Maybe a simpler image will be better? | |

| Too small to be nice? That's the actual size of what a favicon is and I shrunk it down the best way possible - using a graph machine. Actual favicons are even tinier (16*16/34*34). | |

| I mean you can't seen the finer details of the logo, which makes it look not as good as the above. I can barely see the G and the V. Like I said in my post above, a simpler image would work better. | |

| Okay, so you mean start with a size 16*16 on paint and start drawing the logo? I can do this if you want. But I need to know how you converted my image.. | |

| I used flash's trace bitmap function. Its fun to turn things simpler that way. And to your suggestion: Maybe, but only if you feel comfortable working like that. Or just write a small "GV" as the logo. | |

| Yellow looks horrible on the forum. >< Write on 48*48, its easy to write on and will not look that bad after it is shrunk. I could trace it after you work on it if you want.*shrug* | |

| Yellow was the only color that would show up, I'll use green next time I was thinking 48*48 too, but the problem would be is it too large? Most favicons aren't that big.. I'll go 16*16 this time around. | |

| I meant that you could shrink it to 16*16 after you finish drawing. | |

| Okay. I used GIMP, I used AI and everything else to shrink this pic, here's my best result: Here's the 48*48 I started with | |
